The South Side of Chicago is of course, the inspiration for our Southside Tee.  It reads, YOU WOULDN'T LAST A DAY DOWN HERE, and features the stars of the Chicago City Flag and an arrow pointing due south.  So if you're a partisan of the half of Chicago that's south of Madison Street, if you're a Sox fan, if you still call it Comiskey, if you think it's a crime that they ended the South Side Irish Parade, and if you take, perhaps, a somewhat dim view of those Northside Yuppies, then this is the tee for you.

Living in Chicago, I know a lot of people from the Southside, and almost unanimously, they're very, very proud of it, and consider themselves to be "Real" Chicagoans.  And let's face it, your average Big Ten sorority girl from the suburbs who moves to Chicago to take a marketing job downtown, odds are, she's probably not moving to Bridgeport or Beverly or Englewood or Pullman or Back of the Yards.  To clear the record, I HAVE gone to White Sox games, I have been to the Irish parade, and I used to hang out and watch games with my friend Chet who lived down by US Cell.  I even know a few South Side Cubs Fans, and I've even been to places like Orland Park and Flossmoor. 

And why "wouldn't you last a day down there"?  Well, maybe that's an exaggeration, but this shirt has always sold GREAT, so we think the message is on the money.  The jokes have been made, that there's not a Starbucks on every corner, people don't drive VW Jettas, and it's not a place for those who lead a sheltered existence... but South Side of Chicago, and my many Southside friends, I salute you!
