The City of Santa Monica, carved out of the West Side of LA, is almost too good to be true, and a place I truly love.  Before I started the company, and "between jobs", I spent 3 months housesitting for my friend "LA Michelle" who lived near 14th and Santa Monica Boulevard.  I got to explore almost all of LA during that time, but loved coming home to Santa Monica every night.  I love how the big boulevards reach the ocean there... Wilshire, Pico, San Vicente, and of course, what inspired this shirt, where old Route 66 reaches its final destination at Palisades Park.  (And what's cool is -- the other end of US66 is in Downtown Chicago -- about as opposite as you can get) 

LA has its issues, but once you cross into SM, the air smells cleaner, the sun shines brighter, and everyone seems to have a smile on their face.  And how could anyone not love the town that was the mythical home of Three's Company and the subject of the GREAT Mid-90's Everclear song.  I love Main Street, The Third Street Promenade, Montana Avenue, and I have been to EVERY Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and Starbucks in town ; ) -- (big inside joke there) - so, if you haven't been, Santa Monica is an amazing place, and it's pretty much as California as California gets.
