I had never been to MT until my epic 2001 Cross-Country "Celebrate my Unemployment" 18,000-mile road trip.  I entered Montana from the South, coming out of Wyoming in Yellowstone National Park, and it was a thrill to finally cross that Montana State Line.  Soon after, going North on US89, I saw this cool sign...

Well, I certainly wasn't planning on going that far, but soon after passing thru Gardiner, I was racing the sunset as I drove through the spooky Yellowstone River    valley on my way to Livingston, where I spent the night in a lovely Quality Inn.  Good times.  For the next few days, I visited Bozeman, Three Forks and the Source of the Mississippi River, Butte (Lovely!), the Capitol at Helena, the Montana State Fair in Great Falls, and then the awesome Glacier National Park, and Missoula before crossing into Idaho.  If you want to read more about my days in Montana, CLICK HERE!
