According to Chris:
We used to do a family car trip every year up from Florida to visit the relatives in New York. I-95 driving thru Florida, Georgia, The Carolinas... was and is reeeeeally boring. Being a young "road geek" as I was (think I'm alone? click here, great site) -- thing didn't really get exciting on the drive up until we got to Washington, but then things REALLY got exciting when we got to BALTIMORE and the Harbor Tunnel Thruway... 95, 895, 695, 295, 195... I loved finally getting to help Dad navigate through the maze of traffic and construction. But it wouldn't be until I was a young adult that I made it back to Baltimore. I was working with some people in Washington for the CIA (long story - later) and we drove up for ONE NIGHT to party in Fell's Point. We had a lot of fun... and I don't remember too much more, but I did sleep all the way home after crashing in the back seat of the car! Since then, my friend Beth has been my main Baltimore connection, who I thank for ideas like "Charm City is full of flamingo-loving step-cleaning natty boh drinking hons... and... the Star Spangled Banner was written in the Baltimore Harbor..." Karen from Facebook also told me that someday I had to visit Lexington Market... Baltimore and DC are NOT the same city... I gotta see the Preakness someday... and try Utz Crab Chips" Thanks for the input, you made us "feel" Baltimore enough to crank this shirt out!
So, Baltimore, aka "Charm City" - the home of Cal Ripken, Ray Lewis, Edgar Allan Poe, John Waters, Francis Scott Key, and the Ace of Cakes, I salute you! Can't wait to spend some more time over there and chow down some Crab Cakes!
